What is Cerebral Palsy?
Cerebral palsy is a group of disorders that affects a person’s ability to move and maintain balance and posture. It is caused by abnormal brain development or damage to the developing brain, most often before birth.
This condition affects an increasing amount of children each year, limiting their abilities to walk and function and often resulting in life-threatening deformities. Successful treatment of this condition requires a team approach of dedicated physicians and surgeons with specialized training.
Here at Children’s Cerebral Palsy, such a group of physicians exists. It is our primary goal to maximize the functional abilities and care of these children with specialized needs.
